D’Verse Poets Pub – Quadrille #50 – murmur
De has us murmuring to ourselves at the Pub today
–
Heart Condition
An affliction of the heart
Not a-pitter or a-patter
No whooshing, beating,
Thrumming sound
Something softer
Smoother
Steady
A whisper
That continues
Through the day
And through the night
A comforting small murmur
Of your voice repeating
“I love you”
Love this whispered murmur, Candy.

Great surprise ending. What a wonderful heart murmur to have, someone’s love in your heart.

I love the shape of your Quadrille, Candy, like a cardiogram, the sound effects of the heart and the final lines are so gentle and heartfelt (pardon the pun)!.

Thanks, Kim. I didn’t start out to create a shape – but you know, once we start writing, we’re not in complete control of the outcome. 😉

Murmurs are comforting when they are about love.

Love the sounds! And I too was struck by the shape – there’s an invisible heart outline between softer and murmur

Thanks! I didn’t even notice the heart shape until you pointed it out!

Beautifully written, my favorite position laying my head on her breast to hear that beat of love.
