Learning to Ride

d’Verse Poets Pub – Quadrille #59 – Cycle
Kim is hosting at the Pub and she has our wheels spinning

~

Learning to Ride

Little legs pumping
Little face pouting
Little hands gripping
Trying to pedal her shiny
Pink three-wheeled bike
Little progress without a
Little help from Dad
Little hill she picks up speed
Big smile
Big giggles – she feels like a
Big girl riding a
Try-cycle

winter love

Carpe Diem’s Crossroads #11 “a winter’s love”

torn apart clothes
thrown against a beach pole
a winter’s love

bare footed
wandering about the nude beach
in heart of winter

Here is my fusion haiku –

Clothes on a beach pole
Footprints leave a sandy trail
Lovers stroll away

Look Me in the Eyes

d’Verse Poets Pub – Poetics: Getting Personal

Look Me in the Eyes

Blue-green eyes stare back at me
This true reflection of myself
They know me – show me
For who I am
Mostly hopeful, happy, smiling
Little crinkles creep out from
The corners – laugh lines
(not crows feet)
Sometimes pensive, tense(ive)
Even sad – without a sparkle to share
They’ve got the blues
Squinty, maybe flinty, just a hint
Of yellow flecks flash disapproval,
Or confusion – a simple warning-
If you know to notice
Everything about this me is held
Within these blue-green eyes
Staring out at you

summer solstice

Carpe Diem Weekend Meditation #35 Troiku Challenge “summer solstice”

between the wedded rocks (*)
the sun rises to her highest throne
summer solstice

the ice has melted – dances in the sun
crystal waterdrops

This challenge was to creat a fusion haiku using the two haiku by Chevrefeuille, and then create a Troiku from the fusion we created. Here is my attempt.

melted water drops
dancing in the summer sun
crystal between rocks

melted water drops
trickle between the rocks
mountain stream

dancing in the summer sun
welcoming the solstice
wedded rocks
