Collaboration for Peace – 38

img_9241

We Wait

For ashen skies to

Drift and greet the sun

For time to turn this

Turmoil to tranquility

As gifted abilities

Go to waste

We wait for walls to

Fall but they will stand

Unbroken as long as
Goals remain unspoken

We wait for peace

To magically evolve

Like childhood dreams

And it clearly seems

That we have lost our way

Ooopsie

Quadrille #19 – spark
De is asking us to put some “spark” in our Quadrille over at dVerse Poets Pub today

Ooopsie

It was the spark –
That stray remark made
In the dark while we were
Parked under the stars
With other cars watching
A show on giant screens
I didn’t mean to speak
Out loud, so the whole crowd
Could hear my deepest thoughts

Seasonal Segue

It’s ‘Homophone Me’ at d’Verse Poets Pub

and ‘Something’s Gotta Give‘ at Poetic Bloomings

Seasonal Segue

The last leaves wave frantically
Before they have to leave
Trying to get my attention
Gusts of wind roll by in waves
Fall is changing the landscape
Giant cinnamon-roll circles of hay
Dot the fields
Sagging scarecrows still play
The role of protector
I heard flocks of birds overhead
Migrating to warmer climes like
Herds of buffalo across the
Prairie of the sky
I watch a hawk as it climbs higher
Sailing on a thermal draft
And before the last leaf falls –
Stores have moved on to
The next holiday
Leaving me to wonder
Why

Listen October

Listen October –

Why are you Golden-

Why are days Shorter-

Where is the Sun-

What do you say – eh?

Here says the Sun –

Just behind Clouds-

Just farther Away-

Still your bright Star-

Still shining above.

Night’s Glittering stars-

Show me the Bear-

Show me some Sisters-

Show me the Hunter

Look up – said the Sky

Emily Dickinson provided the inspiration in Fashion Me Your Words today at Real Toads.

Waiting

At B&Ps Shadorma and Beyond we are finding inspiration in the words of Bob Dylan.
I’ve taken mine from All Along the Watchtower.

Waiting

I’m watching,
waiting for the truth
listening
for sweet songs
telling the stories of peace
that will heal our wounds
