Quadrille #19 – spark
De is asking us to put some “spark” in our Quadrille over at dVerse Poets Pub today

Ooopsie
It was the spark –
That stray remark made
In the dark while we were
Parked under the stars
With other cars watching
A show on giant screens
I didn’t mean to speak
Out loud, so the whole crowd
Could hear my deepest thoughts

I have never been on any show like that, but there are those moments when a slip of tongue is louder than intended.

I grew up in the days of drive-in movies…there may be a few left somewhere but they’ve mostly gone out of fashion. Maybe with those speakers in the cars not as many people heard your “oopsie” as you may think! Fun, Candy!

I have never been in that exact situation, but I know the feeling of dropping unguarded words into a sudden silence. I love your depiction of the situation.

some
