d’Verse Poets Pub Quadrille #30
It’s a ‘drizzle’ kind day with Mish tending bar at the pub
This is one of those poems that took off and wrote itself 😉
Sculpting En Plein Air
Drops began to drizzle
The day work began
His spirit began to frizzle
Under rainy clouds
Desire began to fizzle
He had lost the sizzle
Of sculpting his true love
She began to shiver
Could not hold the pose
He put down his chisel

I like the -izzle- rhyming words Candy ~ It would be hard to hold that pose under rainy clouds ~
A drizzle of rain can dampen love’s spirit. One just has to go back inside and renew it.
Nice touch! The rhyming keeps it light, fun, rather than heavy and tragic.
Ah, such is the life of a sculptor! Well said.
Aww…their session was interrupted by a cold drizzly day. I’ll bet they try again. 🙂
I liked the way the story was gradually revealed and loved all the “izzles”. 🙂
Art in the outdoors lends itself to the whims of the weather. Chisel was a nice touch at the end.
