Carpe Diem # 1025 “beauty”

The inspiration for this episode comes from this quote by Rumi
[…] “Let the beauty of what you love be what you do.” […] Rumi

I’ve been busy with family and traveling for the past few weeks.
Time to get back to Haiku.

Bee Yourself

you buzz about like
you think you’re
a queen be(e)ing
rude, dismissive,
uninterested in any
thing but yourself

they all flit around
trying to gain your
favor – be(e)your favorite
worker, the most productive –
flowery words winging
through the room

and in the corner – all
alone, unimpressed, under
dressed, one solitary
bumbling be(e)ing
scribbles all he sees
into a poem

___
It’s about bees (in three stanzas) in the Garden this weekend

My Lacuna

the word rolls
effortlessly from
my tongue –
lacuna
it has a romantic
sound
the sound of
a cello playing
a silky feeling
like soft melon
in my mouth
luscious and exotic
hiding the true meaning
the empty place beside
me – the gap in my world
where I am stranded
since you are gone

~

it’s the Flash 55 PLUS! challenge in theGraden
55 words – the plus is using the word lacuna

Left Bereft

At B&Ps Shadorma and Beyond, Bastet has introduced us to the Shadorma Summation – write a poem (about a sad moment in this prompt) with a Shadorma as ending

Left Bereft

once you were gone
part of my history
vanished with you
I’m left behind with
no one who knows me
the way a sister does
no one who loved me from
the moment of
my birth
~
now I must
carry on alone
memories
to comfort
or make me giggle again
like when we were kids
