Self Reflection
gazing into the still lake
I see a stranger’s face
staring back –
distorted with worry
brows knotted
mouth a tight slash
and then
I trail my fingers through
the cool water
inhale deeply
and watch as ripples
sweep away my cares
allowing peace to
settle over me
