d’Verse Poets Pub – Meet the bar: verbing

Camera This
I need to camera these moments
Save them somewhere in my memory
I need to camera these moments
Album them in my heart to keep them from
Negativing into ghosts of themselves
I need to camera these moments
Lens them into focus until I can’t forget
Oh sure, go ahead; write a few outstanding lines and then close the poem with a couplet that shakes the earth, totally stunning the reader and filling him the irresistible urge to read the whole thing 3-4 more times.
Go ahead, I dare you.
Oh. Wait.
Never mind.

Your poem really spoke to me, Candy, as I too love to camera! I especially love ‘Album them in my heart to keep them from / Negativing into ghosts of themselves’ – I have a whole stack of photos to album, and a lovely album to put them in. My favourite like: ‘Lens them into focus until I can’t forget’.

I’ve let so many moments go by that should have been camera’d. Great verbification!
