Liar

Synesthesia – in the Imaginary Garden

~
Liar

The sound of your
Words made me itchy
Like an old wool blanket
on bare skin
You, the smooth talker,
Can not fool me
I feel the lies that slip
Smoothly through your lips
Lies you think are hidden
Behind a charming smile

Onsies

a tiny silver time-machine
recovered from a drawer
transports me to a school
playground –
onsies, twosies, threesies
little girls sitting in a circle
no worries except
making it to tensies
where are they now
do they remember
playing ‘jacks’ at recess
or are they now too worried about
grown-up games

Welcome Home

d’Verse Poets Pub – Poetics: DIY Building
Sara  has us tightening our tool belts for a DIY building project

(Wel)come Home

please don’t throw stones
at my glass house
I want to see the sun
rising and setting
the moon and stars
dancing through the night
seasons performing magic
before my eyes
I want windows that open wide
inviting the scents of
calming lavender and sage
to stay awhile
the sounds of birds to wend
their way through this space
I want doors that open both ways
so friends can always come and go

Collaboration for Peace – 51

Sol

Shadows still play
On the path to peace
Veins of the vicious
Testing our strength
To reach for the light

Dodge the darkness
Stretch your arms
To the sun
Embrace the heart
Of humanity

Sleepover

d’Verse Quadrille #27 – giggle
De has us laughing over our Quadrilles today.
Here’s my silly offering.

Sleepover

we booked the gig(gle)
for Friday night
and I wore a wig(gle)
just for laughs
we danced a jig(gle)
until the street lights came on
by the glow of a flashlight
we read poetry
until our eyes drooped
and the words were mere squiggles

FASHION ME YOUR WORDS TO ~ FOLD

Your challenge today toads, is to Let your words dance with me in celebration. Forgetting all others, focus your gaze on The Fold and write using the form. You can write fiction fact or fantasy, staying true to the following guidelines:

2.The end phrase of Line one repeats at Lines 5 and 11
3.The rhyme of line 1 continues through in every other line
4. There must be a reference to nature and how it affect you the poet’

Quite a challenge Gillena has given us today

A Cloudy Day
clouds drift by forming pictures in the sky
a horse, a dragon, a tall sailing ship
I watch them pass and dream that I
am floating along with them
no longer tied to earth, now just pictures in the sky
forming and reforming into fanciful shapes
a dog, a castle, a huge butterfly
the wind begins to howl and beak apart
this cloudy art and I must say goodbye
run back inside and from my window gaze
at a blank canvas, erased of all pictures in the sky

Choices

Out of Standard: Multiple Choice
It’s time for some Multiple Choice in the Garden

Choices

You brought me a star
Shall I wish upon it
Or fling it back into the night

You brought me a song
Shall I sing it back to you
Or muffle the melody

You brought me a poem
Shall I recite it aloud
Or let it sit on the shelf

You brought me your heart
I will hold it tenderly
Next to mine

Just Gone

d’verse Quadrille #26 – ghost
Kim has us ghost busting today at the Poets Pub. I’m afraid mine turned a little maudlin. It’s not based on anything personal, just how my muse chose to write today.
~
Just Gone

I searched for you
Among the tumbled
Crumbled tombstones

I sat quietly in
Vaulted cathedrals
Watching flickering candles

But you did not appear
Not a wisp or
A touch of cold air

You are nowhere
There is no ghostly you
To fill this void

Wide Open

It’s all about WALLS in the Garden today

Wide Open

some might build walls
for protection
for isolation
for immunity
after their hearts have
been broken
keeping other hearts out
fearing more damage
but I will keep my heart open
to life as it comes
each bruise or tear
making it smater, stronger –

bolder
