Sleepover

d’Verse Quadrille #27 – giggle
De has us laughing over our Quadrilles today.
Here’s my silly offering.

Sleepover

we booked the gig(gle)
for Friday night
and I wore a wig(gle)
just for laughs
we danced a jig(gle)
until the street lights came on
by the glow of a flashlight
we read poetry
until our eyes drooped
and the words were mere squiggles

Beginning Over

dVerse Poetics: Muse Mixology
De has us mixing it up with “bar” terminology this week. Cheers!
Did I mention – in just 33 words, or less!
~~
Beginning Over

she hung her three sheets to (flap in) the wind
dry on the rocks
she had spritzed away her old life
hammered out each sour fleck of him
kamikazed old rum memories

Meeting the bar: Common Meter

Frank Hubney is the guest host at d’Verse Poet’s Pub and he has challenged us to write our poems using common meter.

The Painter

If I could paint with hues of blue
I’d paint gray clouds that sadden you
I’d find some yellow and I’d add
The brightest sun in glitter clad
And if that sun does not cheer you
I’d paint myself a gray shade too
Then snuggle close along your side
Until your tears have all been dried

Your Heart

Over at d’Verse Poets Pub, Mish has us taking a closer look at the art of Ally Saunders for some inspiration.
I chose her work titled Crossing the River. You can see more of her art here

Crossing the River  – Ally Saunders

Your Heart

Bring me your heart
Unadorned
Unburdened
With past lives and
Worn out feelings

Bring me your true heart
Your joyful heart
Your mournful heart
Your trusting heart

Bring me your fragile heart
Let me tenderly
Lovingly
Stow it away
Throw away the key

Bring me your heart
And I will
Give you mine
