Something For Me – a Shadorma
please carve some
time out of your life
some love out
of your heart
save a little piece of you
something just for me
~~
Poetic Asides PAD 14 – “time out”
Who took
my last cookie
the one I was saving
chocolate chip with
walnuts
Who snitched
my last cookie
while I brewed a perfect
cup of tea
Who pilfered
my last cookie
and left an empty
package on the shelf
Who made off with
my last cookie
the only one I wanted
Who swiped
my last cookie
when there were
snickerdoodles too
Who pirated
my last cookie
Arrrrr!!
Who purloined
my last cookie
leaving me longing
pining
yearning
for that gooey
crunchy circle of
nirvana
~~
Poetic Asides PAD 13 – “last (blank)

You are lying
I can see it in eyes
that gleam with
insincerity
your head bowed to
mask a smile
your confessor
hears only your voice
dripping with regret
asking for forgiveness

Mama Zen is in the Garden today asking us to imagine “If these walls could talk …..”
Carpe Diem #953 – air

train whistle
echoes in the night air
lonesome thoughts
d’Verse Poetics: Fantasia
Lillian is asking for poems using fantasia, phantasia, fantasy, or any kind of”fancy”
~~~~
it was their fantasy
to fly into space
to dive to the depths
of the ocean
it was their fantasy
to see the person
on the other end of a call
to put dishes in a
machine to wash them
it was their fantasy
to cook food in seconds
to cure diseases
when will our
fantasies become real
defend
your heart my
mother always said
but
this is not a fight
this is true love
and I surrender
her silly antics made me laugh a
great big loud guffaw escaped and
floated through the atmosphere
I giggled til I thought
I’d burst and blushed a
shade of red – guess
it’s true I’m
tickled
