d’Verse Poetics: Fantasia
Lillian is asking for poems using fantasia, phantasia, fantasy, or any kind of”fancy”

it was their fantasy
to fly into space
to dive to the depths
of the ocean
it was their fantasy
to see the person
on the other end of a call
to put dishes in a
machine to wash them
it was their fantasy
to cook food in seconds
to cure diseases
when will our
fantasies become real
Ah — you are pondering the right questions. What was fantasy yesterday is reality tomorrow. Invention, the child of creativity. Well done!

What a great take, candy. And how very true.

Good points, Candy–without those fantasies we would not progress, we would stagnate. Innovators feed on fantasy, I suppose.

Oh the imaginations – and yet when it’s all real we need another… A little bit like a super-rush of realization…

I suppose our 21st century lives would be utterly wishful phantasy to our 18th century forbears. Bravo.

Both clever & accurate. I think of the Dick Tracy watch, & other fantasies come true. Sadly, today, we boomers find it difficult to keep up with technology or our kids who master it in minutes.

I was a Dick Tracey fan. We must just muddle along, I guess.

Yesterday’s science fiction is today’s reality. Very good write on fantasy.

Lovely poem. It’s so true – sometimes things we imagine actually become reality. I mean someone had to imagine the internet. 🙂
