is it ever going to stop?
dai after day gray
clouds empty their cargo –
drip, drop, drip
showers, downpours, storms
tomato plants treading water
squash squished
ballfields flooded fit only
for a family of paddeling ducks
flop, flop of windshield wipers
accompanies the swish of tires
on wet pavement
an opus to sooth me to sleep
wide awake
in my dreams
predicted by arthritis

Oh how I’d gladly take some of that rain off your hands! Wonderful poem, too!
