Garden Magic
Deep in each small seed
A mystery lies buried
Only sun and rain
Can create the magic spell
That will free the hidden prize
A red tomato
Or a yellow sunflower
Captured in a shell
Waiting to at last uncurl
To the gardener’s delight
A place for poems and pics

Day 3 of April PAD has us writing a connection poem
An Ambiguous Connection
I think there must be a connection
between the Sun and the Moon.
Some hidden connection that pulls
the Sun up and the Moon down.
A thin line of spinning stars
pushing and pulling through
Sunrise to Moonrise.
An invisible line of galactic glory
keeping the Sun and Moon apart.
But every now and then, the stars
drift away, maybe to party,
and the Sun and the Moon
both shine down on me.

I like the hush of twilight
When even birds are still
exiled is sun’s gypsy light
I like the hush of twilight
When day becomes contrite
And moon’s glow overspills
I like the hush of twilight
When even birds are still

Capturing the Sun
I picked a bunch of
Buttery daffodils
Trying to capture the sun
To keep a little piece for
Those days when the sky
Is only shades of gray
With dabs of paint and
Bold brush strokes my
Canvas is covered with
Yellow ruffles of sunshine
That cloudy days can not
Obscure

Morning Gloria
morning sashays in like
a woman in a red dress
who knows everyone is watching
she pushes the darkness
into a corner where it will
cower until her glow turns
and strolls away

High Flying Dreamer
I’m dreaming, scheming, seeming
to fly to the edge of the gleaming sun
then fall back to earth,screaming
with joy, hair streaming behind like a sail
inhale, exhale, breath slowly
let it flow, run downhill
until exhausted I rest in the
arms of Orpheus

TROUBLES
I was having trouble sleeping
Moon came peeping
Caught me crying
Left me sighing
I was having trouble waking
Sun came shaking
On my shoulder
Left me bolder
I was having trouble seeing
Love was fleeing
You came giving
Life worth living
