I Want To Know
How the moon learned
to shine
Why planets don’t
get dizzy – spinning
What the stars do
during the day
Where clouds find
rain and snow
Who whispers to
the wind
When you knew
you
loved
me

Poetic Asides Nov PAD – I Want ……
Old Women
There are no ‘old’ women
Some women have lived longer
Loved deeper
Cried more tears
Some women have laughed louder
Felt greater loss
Faced more danger
Some women have worked harder
Given more
Hoped longer
But there are no ‘old’ women

Poetic Asides Nov PAD – thinking out loud
Things I Love
There is no logic to the things I love
The creamy froth on my chai latte
Morning dew on a spider’s web
The clean, calming scent of lavender
In my garden as I pass by
The giddy anticipation I feel when
Packing my suitcase for a trip
The glow of a promise made
When I look at the gold band on my finger

Paper Journal
I love the feel of pen gliding
Across a sheet of paper
The magic of transforming
Blank pages into word art
I love the whiff of ink
That tickles my nose
As each page fans
the air in turn
I love looking backward
And moving forward
Within the creamy pages
Of straight lined paper

Find the Silence – 1
~
super moon
filling the night sky
makes no sound
Imagine If
The moon has gone to the dark side
Leaving only stars to light the night
Battles break out between Orion
And The Sisters about who will rule
The Milky Way curdles
The dippers spill out the space junk
They’ve been collecting while
The Bull charges madly across the sky
And we are left spooning by the
Light of The Swan

Quadrille #19 – spark
De is asking us to put some “spark” in our Quadrille over at dVerse Poets Pub today
–
Ooopsie
It was the spark –
That stray remark made
In the dark while we were
Parked under the stars
With other cars watching
A show on giant screens
I didn’t mean to speak
Out loud, so the whole crowd
Could hear my deepest thoughts

Uncommon Friend
some say you
don’t belong
don’t fit in
a nonconformist –
trouble
and so they
don’t
give you a chance
but you are bright and
sparkling
adding zing to my
dull life
zest to my ordinary days
balance to my humble story
and I am better for
knowing you
