this poem is a little
stained
strained and
stretched
across the page
it’s been reworked
reformed
reimagined
rolled up
ironed out
let out – taken in
unravelled
stitched to
gether
crinkled in my pocket
erased and re-
scribbled
in crayon
this poem is
just
worn-
out
—-
the Wednesday prompt at Poetic Asides today is – stained
I love that we both did “this poem” poems today.
And I LOVE your set apart “gether” — which for me becomes both “gather” and “get her”
Perfect!

Hey, at least you got something good out of it. I’ve done all that too, and then stopped and mused “what the hell I did start out wanting to write about?” Thanks.
