some days I am mittens
holding tight – fingers
clasped around my
feelings
safe and warm within
my knitted life
comforted by simple
things
some days I am gloves
fingers stretched out
to touch the world
grabbing all of what
this life can offer
reaching for the
stars
some day I am mittens
some days I am gloves

Oh, that is a beautiful poem! I think the comparison is just right. Are you a knitter?

Thanks! No, I don’t knit. Maybe someday

It’s a cute poem, candy. Nice picture too. Gloves encourage the fingers to mingle and interact. Mittens keep the fingers together, like a fence, or incestial. Both cover, they hide and protect.

This is a very effective analogy. I like the way you have set out the lines, with a great control of the flow of ideas.
