Carpe Diem #1364 Tian Shan Mountains (Northern route)
—-
native tulips
growing in the mountain’s shadow
little treasure
——
I just finished reading Tulipomania by Mike Dash. This book gives the history of the cultivating, buying, and selling of tulips in the 16th and 17th centuries. The original tulip, that bears little resemblance to the varieties we know today, was discovered by the Turks in Central Asia.

Where is Love
A tear-streaked face up-turned to the sky
Searched every day for signs of love in the sky
A shape, a word, a flash of light – but
Not even silent clouds floated in the sky
Unbroken, endless blue and nothing more
No flying bird or breath of wind across the sky
Then gently wafting, starting softly like a whisper
Tender notes began to travel through the sky
They lead me down a winding lane to you
And there is love waiting for me – not in the sky

Mirror On The Wall
The face in the mirror
Tried to give me a flawed update
Fake news
False report
But I fact-checked those
Negative statements
Googled the hearsay
Then turned out the light
