Dreaming

I did not sleep until
I heard the owl call
to me and the

crickets sing
a lullaby of
gentle songs

moon and stars
were my night-lights
chasing away the

phantoms that lurked
in the corners of the
night

only then did I dream

Over ar dVerse it’s a Quadrille Monday – thanks Bjorn

I am the white whale
you seek – not meek
I watch the horizon
patiently waiting
until you appear
flinging words
like swords
that pierce with
each syllable
but this time
I will counter
with a gentleness
meant to disarm
charm
and I will capture you

Collaboration for Peace

Mish and I have united with photography and poetry. These collaborations are a very small example of how perfect strangers can work together, be inspired by each other and share a passion for peace. This weeks poem is from the heart of Mish.

Life is delicate, intricate

 Complicated, segregated

But one heart still beats

At the center of existence

One soul still strives

To be one with all

tribulation

tin stars pasted to a dark sky
paper moon is an illusion
a crystal dove that can not fly
a dream filled with dire confusion
a mind trap of grim delusion
please come to me to save my soul
with murmured words of allusion
to light and free flight – make me whole

Roving

image

hiking the trail
boots treading lightly
backpack like a
papoose hugging
me tightly
I follow those who
blazed the way
through this verdant forest
who honored the
earth and stream –
life source
respected the bear
and coyote, rabbit
and mouse
I walk alone with
only my thoughts
as companions
and those thoughts
are of you
