Where is Love

Meeting the Bar at d’Verse Poets Pub
Paul has challenged us to give The Ghazal a try

Where is Love

A tear-streaked face up-turned to the sky
Searched every day for signs of love in the sky

A shape, a word, a flash of light – but
Not even silent clouds floated in the sky

Unbroken, endless blue and nothing more
No flying bird or breath of wind across the sky

Then gently wafting, starting softly like a whisper
Tender notes began to travel through the sky

They lead me down a winding lane to you
And there is love waiting for me – not in the sky

Mirror On The Wall

Poetics – Through the looking glass – d’Verse Poets Pub
Bjorn has us stepping up to the mirror behind the bar

Mirror On The Wall

The face in the mirror
Tried to give me a flawed update
Fake news
False report
But I fact-checked those
Negative statements
Googled the hearsay
Then turned out the light

Oh How It Grows

Poem One for Me–dVerse Quadrille
Victoria has us poeming at the Pub today

Oh, How It Grows

It was just a word
Or two
The beginning of a rhyme
Or not
No telling what it might become
With time
And a little TLC, a tonic, a potion
A shot of moon dust
Oh, how it grows
This little poemlette of mine
