Mat Reality

Mat Reality

yogis doing downward dog

while I lay prostate, like a log

triangles and eagle arms

I really do not feel the charm

cat and cow and plow and chair

make me think I might not care

about the mountains or the trees

or boats that never sail the seas

we twist and bend until at last

laid out like corpses, end of class

Namaste

d’Verse Poets Pub – Quadrille #116: Poem Those Possibles

Namaste

We find ourselves twisted and stretched
Into Impossible positions – Eagle arms,
bridges, chairs, up and down
dogs. Sometimes we are
mountains, sometimes
dolphins or camels. Then slowly breath in,
breath out coming back to heart center–
armed with peace,
facing a day of possibilities.

M(Ohm)tivation

roll out of bed when the alarm
sounds – well, hit the snooze
once

wash face, brush teeth
maybe comb hair –
unless I hit the snooze
twice

pull on comfy clothes
grab my mat and keys
clean my glasses –
unless I hit the snooze
three times

downward dog
warrior I & II
tree pose – mine is
blowing in the wind
triangle

sun salutations
shavasana –
ahhhhhhh

my motivation
very large chia tea latte
after class
