Free Falling
I stood on the brow of the mountain
watching clouds cast shadows below me.
Vultures were gliding on warm currents of air.
As I watched, a single yellow leaf released its grip from
a bare tree branch, twirling in a free fall of delight.

My Tall Lamp
it does not care who
needs its glow or why
it shines its 60 watts
for anyone who asks
and does not judge or
criticize it spreads its
incandescent warmth
on my blank page
chasing shadows from
my thoughts and erasing
the darkness from a
moonless night

silent forest
keeping lovers’ secrets

Shadows still play
On the path to peace
Veins of the vicious
Testing our strength
To reach for the light
Dodge the darkness
Stretch your arms
To the sun
Embrace the heart
Of humanity

Stay tuned next Sunday for our final post for Collaboration for Peace. This has been an amazing experience. We hope to pass on the torch of peace to you, that you will join in the power of creativity and kindness to inspire others.

Forward
Why are we backpedaling
While currents of clarity
Still flow at our feet?
How does one drop of impurity
Poison our possibilities?
When are we accountable
For the inevitable,
Witnesses to the destruction?
We are the ripples of hope
On waters, stagnant
The ancient sunlight shimmer
Dancing over shadows
We are the reflections
Of persistent hands of change
And this world did not evolve
Without us

Nature sings to me
In melodies of sun
And baritone shadows
Harmony on forest’s floor
Echos of peace

It may be narrow
Obscured by our own
Selfish shadows we
So carelessly cast
We may trip
Fall
Stumble
Or stray aimlessly
From the path
But there is always
A gateway to peace

Carpe Diem # 1027 “movement”
our inspirational quote for today:
[…] “Haiku is the poetry of nature and nature is always in motion. Seasons come and go, the moon changes every 28 days and so on, the only thing which is steady and without clear motion is our sun, that big star of our Milky Way around which the planets are rotating.” […] Chèvrefeuille, your host

Burgeon
Seeded in the same soil
Some will bask in
Universal beams of light
Shadows lurk and twist
Not all hearts will evolve
To bear the fruit of peace
