If time would slow down
– just a little
I might be able to catch
up, to make my bed, get
the laundry done, buy some
groceries, even cook a meal
Instead I’m running
behind, late, feeling like
Alice – down the rabbit hole
into the looking glass
Always one step away from
the latest trend, slang, fashion
If time would slow down
– for just a second maybe
I wouldn’t have lost you
we planted by the
light of the moon
guided by the pearly translucence
when the astronomical signs
say earth is most fertile
and results premium
ignoring the whirligig doublespeak
of scientific gurus
Step outside on a clear summer night
Cast your eyes upward to see the light
Of a million stars in the dark firmament
The gow of lost planets already spent
Close your eyes tightly, breath in, breath out
Empty your mind – earasing all doubt
That those pinpoints of light are too far away
For your small earthbound finger to stretch out to play
With the sparkling wonderful magic in space
Trust your heart, look at me, find your star in my face
life bursts forth from seed
tiny green shoot seeks the sun
no longer dormamt
She’s he’s left me here
All by myself
No thought of me
Food on a shelf
One lousy toy
A Christmas elf
TV turned off
Just for herself
Said she’d be back
Don’t trouble oneself
I won’t be here
All by myself
loud chattering cries
perched on the edge flapping wings
chicks learning to fly
