In Early March

D’Verse Poets – Poetry Forms – The Pantoum

In Early March

*

because it started slowly
it fooled us into disbelief
once again the forecast wrong
winter’s surely in retreat

it fooled us into disbelief
fine, feathery flakes seemed harmless
winter’s surely in retreat
no need watch or worry now

fine, feathery flakes seemed harmless
we put away our shovels, gloves
no need to watch and worry now
and in the morning we’re snowed in

we put away our shovels, gloves
once again the forecast wrong
and in the morning we’re snowed in
because it started slowly

On This Rainy Day

On This Rainy Day – a Pantoum (I think)

just one color on this rainy day
the sky a rooftop of smokey slate
my bed is where I wish to stay
forget appointments or show up late

the sky a rooftop of smokey slate
trees and bushes a shade of gray
forget appointments, show up late
read a book, brew some Earl Grey

trees and bushes a shade of gray
chocolate cake upon a plate
read a book, brew some Earl Grey
a lazy day to appreciate

chocolate cake upon a plate
my bed is where I wish to stay
a lazy day to appreciate
just one color on this rainy day

Wishing On A Star

Fir tree is decorated with a star
Green branches laden with glowing tinsel
Cookies are on a special plate
Now we are waiting for Santa

Green branches laden with glowing tinsel
No shiny packages yet to be found
Now we are waiting for Santa
Hoping our wishes will come true

No shiny packages yet to be found
Cookies are on a special plate
Hoping our wishes will come true
Fir tree is decorated with a star
