moon dancing

arms outstretched
faces turned upward
moonlight shines
as we laugh
monsters hiding in the dark
shrink and fade away

At B&Ps Shadorma and Beyond we’re getting our inspiration from the following poem
by Zeki Majed

Dancing in the Olive Field

With your fragile soul in my arms
We move with the rhythm of our hearts
Side to side, left and right
We both feel love inside
For each other, for the sight
Of the setting sun, for your beautiful eyes
Where I see the reflection of the moon rise
As we are moving with the wind
So gentle, yet the entire world can feel
The passion which we carry when our bare feet
Slide across the land like a summer breeze
With your head on my chest, your hands in mine
We are dancing in the olive field…
With a sinful smile…
The scent of heaven reaches my tears
That travel across my face
Full of sorrow, that leaves
Like the autumn leaves
Waiting to be replaced by spring…
Like the happiness that you bring
When we are dancing in the olive field…
Side to side, left and right
Forever intertwined…with you my darling
As we…are dancing in the olive field…

the moon shines softly on us
we cast just one shadow

Im(portent) Moon

I planted peas by your
lambent (nightl)light
and started tomatoes
according to your (de)signs
I mowed and sowed
and flowed with the charts
you waxed poetic in
blossoms – white as light
I danced in your fullness
until waning, not complaining
we rested at the dawn
and yet this gonzo gardening
asks no pardoning from the sun

Poetic Asides PAD 28 – “Important (blank)”

fiddle-de-diddle

the moon has taken
the whole night off
and the stars have
called in sick
the cow took off
from the ground but found
there was nothing
up there to jump over
the dish and spoon
got lost in the dark
and stumbled their
way back home
the little dog thought it
was all a big joke and
chuckled and laughed
out loud
but the fiddling cat
such a very cool cat
fiddled his way to dawn

Poetic Asides PAD 27 – “take off”

Sevenling

the gentle moon peeked in
smiled at me
sang me a lullaby

the morning sun appeared
shook me awake
without sweet song

tonight I’ll draw the drapes

De is tending bar at d’Verse  Poets Pub and has challenged us to write a
Sevenling. Here’s my attempt.

They Say

they say the moon is just some rock
a collection of debris leftover
from a gigantic space collision
an orbiting satellite on a fixed rotation
but my moon is soft and gentle
a glowing nightlight
a midnight friend who
sings love songs to my muse
