time does not stand still
days slowly lengthen – shorten
apple tree is burdened
A place for poems and pics
I pray for rain
Not a silly drizzle but
A cleansing downpour
They do not care my
Fenders are covered with
Highway dust bunnies
I can barely see through
grime streaked lenses
How difficult would it
Be to uncoil that hose
Hanging at the back
Of the house
It would be a treat to
Scamper through a car
Wash now and then to
Feel bubbles tickling
My bumpers and
Savor the swishing fingers
Of chamois running over
My roof
They do not care
I pray for rain
Plump gray clouds cover the sky
They bump, jostle, gently sigh
then carelessly overflow
with no care for those below
clarinet sounds blue
and violin plays purple
piano yellow

She pedaled until her shoes bled red
Riding away from nothing
In particular
Riding toward something
Yet unknown
She peddled until the wheels fell off
Riding away from
The familiar
Riding toward
A stranger
She pedaled until her brakes locked up
And she was thrown
headlong
Into the here and now
Men are not from Mars
They are from
Across the street
Across town
Acoss the country
Across the pond
We find them in unexpected places
A coffee shop
A school
A factory
A train
A plane
We wed them
Befriend them
Send them packing
Hold them close
They break our hearts and
We break theirs
lusciuos,red and ripe
waiting to be picked, plucked, bought
by handsome stranger
lying on emarald bed
watermelon seduction
mud pies, pot holders,
bike rides, board games, wild dancing
a childhood friendship
