Friend Event

Why do we always wait for an event
to get together
to give a call
to send a card

 

We used to know everything
about each other
crushes
favorite ice cream
music
shoe size
fears

You’ve moved again
I don’t even know your address

It’s not your fault
or mine
life has us spinning off
in different directions

If we’re patient maybe
someday
it will spin us back together
