raindrops
trickle down the window on a chilly winter day leaving the sharp edges blurry
trees and sky collide
——
the challenge at Heeding Haiku with Chevrefeuille is to write a one-bun
she had a gift
that something special
all who heard her
speak believed
and seemed un-
able to think for
themselves
she was smooth like
polished copper
her smile was
genuine, her touch
warm and welcoming
oh, yes –
you were sure you
were her best friend
her confidante
she was the person-
ification of
mendaciloquent
I would have
fallen for her lies
too – if she were not
me
——
Just Jot It January 27th – mendaciloquent (quite a challenge!)
the dirt is not just
“dirt”
it is alive, striving,
to stay neutral
it is the magic
elixir, fixer
of plant life
and so ours too
it is dark,
dank, a bank
of crumbly gold
we make withdrawals
without checking
the balance
it is clay
and sandy
loam
we walk all over it
just taking it
for granted
supplanted

A Pair of Shoes (painting by Van Gogh – 1886)
tattered boots
tramped through fields of war
weary soldier
Carpe Diem Tokubetsudesu # 67 – Van Gogh’s shoes
I am one
with the moon
and stars
the cosmic dust
of planets
I am one
with the sun
and clouds
the flow of rivers
the ebb of tides
I am one
with the music
of nature
the dance
of seasons
I am one
with the beat
of your heart
the pulse
of your being
—-
Just Jot It January 26th – oneness
call it sleight of
hand
or is it sleight of
heart
you are a
master magician
the ultimate in
prestidigitation
when I wasn’t
looking
you captured
my love
—
Just Jot It January 25th – prestidigitation
snowflakes drifting
from bare tree branches
winter blossoms

Carpe Diem #904 – Kazahana (snowflakes)
it must have been
some
magic spell
compelling me
to sit outside
beneath the moon
though it was
wintery –
not June
but as I tipped
my face to see
that gentlemanly
orb spied me
and sent a
moonbeam
to my cheek
a little kiss to
start my week
oh, surely I had
been compelled
by magic
moonbeams
as they fell
—-
Just Jot It January 24th – compelled

do you think
amid the background
noise of human
companions
a cat
proud feline
fierce hunter
wonders how he
ended up on the
wrong side of
the glass

It’s Sunday which means another Collaboration For Peace! Mish and I are happy to share our creations and hope that they can inspire you in some small way.

i am the blue of nature
the orange of a sunrise
purple clouds at sunset
the crisp red of autumn
yellow sunflower petals
i am tumbled, jumbled
pieces – a kaleidoscope
ever changing, shifting,
being recreated
