dandelion seeds
expelled upward by a breeze
fireworks at a fair
A place for poems and pics
I spoke words of wisdom
But they fell unheeded
Like brown leaves
I spoke words of love
But they fluttered in the
Wind like spent blossoms
I spoke words of peace
But they blew away
Like downy seeds
I spoke words of mercy
But they were swept up
Like coulds before a storm
I spoke words of hope
Into the void but they fell
Apart and letters descended
Like drops of rain
I remain silent

White apple blossom prophets
Foretell of sweetness
Tiny swelling at the base
A promise to the gnarled
Old tree, a sign of its
Usefulness, its reason
For existing
And in old age a
Child becomes our prophet
(written for Imaginary Garden With Real Toads)
I stole a fragment of
the sea
the insistent surf withdrew
from my grasp
and left me empty
I cut a fragment of
earth’s clay
my knife bent and broke
and left me hardened
I ripped a fragment of
your heart
to keep it close
it turned to stone and I
was left
alone
