left on her favorite chair
made by time worn hands

summer’s closing act
mists over the foreign lands
darkness comes quickly

heavy sunflowers
leaning shakily toward earth
like drunken sailors

Smiling Man

there once was a man with a smile
that measured well over a mile
when he entered a room
he swept away gloom
let’s invite him to stay for a while

to honor

kings and gods alike

monuments that took mortal men’s lives

so Pharaohs could journey to the afterlife with ease

morning walk
summer sun beats down
on her head
breeze plays with golden tresses
covered by her silken scarf

furry hunter spies
feathered prey beyond his reach
sitting in window
