To The Beast Of My Dreams

To The Beast Of My Dreams

I thought I saw you yesterday
At our favorite grocery store
I smiled, then waved, then hollered, “Hey!”
You didn’t hear, or just ignored

I thought I heard you call my name
When I was walking on the trail
Was this some kind of childish game
That I was surely bound to fail

I dreamt about you through the night
I chased you but you ran away
When morning came with welcome light
The covers all in disarray

Assured me you were really there
Snoring like a grizzly bear

  1. Fun sweet suspenseful popping sonnet. Oh those lovely beasts. Nice when dreams get substaniated into corporeal substance, even if they snore. I am winding through the trail late in the month. This one was very fun
