d’Verse Poets Pub – Quadrille #53 – Egg
I meant to paint an egg ……
Maybe three
Lovely brown eggs
With some dark speckles
A downy feather stuck
To one of them
A slight crack for interest
put them in a nest,
in a coop,
with some chickens
Instead
I painted a pear
This is sweet.

I know… sometimes we think of the chicken… painting a pear sounds just as well.

Smiling I am…….in such a few words and in such a practical way, you’ve described the happenstance of the muse 🙂 Loving this response to the prompt!

Well I didn’t see that coming…….which was great! We have intentions we never follow and sometimes that leads us down more adventurous paths. Here’s to painting pears! 🙂

I’ve always loved the Russian painted eggs. They’re so ornate!
Sometimes I really wish I could go back to my childhood on a holiday. My brother and I had wonderful times decorating eggs. It’s all just memories now.

Hi Candy! I’ve commented twice and neither comment is showing. I wonder if they went to spam? It’s happened a few times on other poets’ posts. I think WordPress is having hiccups again. 🙂
