The Journey
Come be my friend
Just for a while
Set sail with me
Just for a mile
Let’s see the world
Through different eyes
Discover truths
We thought were lies
Let’s trust our hearts
To know the way
To find the words
With which to pray
For fellowship
And peace and love
An olive branch
A snow white dove
Come be my friend
Just for awhile
Set sail with me
Just for a mile
LOVING this! Love the repetition and the rhyme (awhile and mile; and the 2nd and 4th lines of each stanza). But most especially love the idea of two different beings sharing the trip and looking at things from two different viewpoints and enjoying! 🙂 Great response to the image 🙂

I like the possibility of change suggested in these lines: “Discover truths
We thought were lies”

Nicely rhymed and rhythmed – flowed beautifullly. I like the content, too. It would be a strange, but interesting friendship between these two, I think.

A lovely friendship poem, Candy, with a rhythm and rhyme that evokes the movement of a boat on water, which is emphasisd by the repetition. You also involved the reader with direct address and, I would love to set sail with a cat and an elephant!

A sweet invitation, Candy! Would improve relations if we’d sail together “just for a mile.”

This is the best.. to be friends… no matter if we are alike it’s still the friendship that matters.

it made me a little sad, when someone asks to be a friend, they must be so lonely but so generous with their spirit, you have created a bigger story from just that painting, wanting acceptance and offering so much from that friendship if only someone would have them.
