2017 November PAD Chapbook Challenge: Day 3
Write a triangle poem
~
Rhythm Band
the triangle just
kind of dangles from
a piece of string
most children do not choose
it from the box of
noise making instruments
it makes a tiny tingling sound
a merry jingling sound
a not too loud sound
it does not clang
like the cymbals or
rattle like maracas
it does not call
attention to itself
like the drums
but there is always one
the quiet one, the shy one
who loves the magic
of the triangle
The triangle looks like it might be easier to play. I can see how the shy one would prefer its magic.

Nice, simple and magical; from now on, no more ignoring the triangle!

Founds this quite moving. Thinking of my son’s music class!

I also feel that there is always one, the shy and careful kid who is forced to always be the tingling one…

Magic, delightful tinkling magic.

I think it takes a child who believes in fairies to choose the triangle, and those are the most special. Love this poem.
