FASHION ME YOUR WORDS TO ~ stretch the imagination
Pondering natural disasters today
—
Hurricane
Mother Moon placed her
howling baby into the calm water
a bath to sooth the child’s tantrum
but baby splashed and kicked in rage
the water rose up, frothy
and toy cities filled with people
were tossed and buffeted about
small cars floated like boats
roads became rivers
until the child wore itself out
fell asleep amid the ruins
An interesting viewpoint of hurricanes – a big giant baby having a tantrum. Sometimes it seems that way, doesn’t it? Well done.

This is ingenious, Candy. I adore the closing. You should be very proud of this.

This is amazing! Posted to my Pinterest – You blend the two so well together – something as innocent as a babies bath and its toys – but yet … a mythological explanation of why hurricanes happen! Excellent.

Tantrum of a divine baby in the bath is a fine way to approach a hurricane. Spent among the ruins, yes.
