d’Verse Poets Pub – Meet the Bar with impressionism
Bjorn has challenged us to write as an impressionist would paint.

Spring Snowstorm
snow
heavy, wet
covers every bare branch
until just a hint of red maple buds
catch the sun’s rays
every shrub, a shapeless mound
the pale gray sky blends into the
featureless landscape where
the booted tracks of a child
create random patterns
of shadow across my yard
I liked the shadows created by the child’s footsteps probably having a good time in the wet snow.

What a wonderful scene… those tracks create so much life to a scene of snow.

This late Spring snow made poets of us all! I love the thought of the footprints in the yard. Good read.

I like how you create a monochrome vista then drop the red maple buds in … very clever and great image

All is covered but a branch and the sun creates shadows across your yard…short, sweet, and lovely poem and scene.

I can see those booted tracks on the snow laden path Candy ~ The title made me smile & pout at the same time ~ The weather is so confusing ~

greys and faded whites all part of a feeling of a snowy day and the boot tracks adding depth to the word play – lovely scene

Those boot tracks just made this a delight for me, Candy–and the peek of red from the maple in the otherwise pale canvas.

Those mischievous boot tracks…how that child loved marking up that perfect snow! and the red maple buds….I can close my eyes and see it now. I think of it as a Monet.

Love the sweep of the scene from up and far away to the close ground.

I love the muted colours with ‘just a hint of red maple buds’ and the blurring of edges in ‘a shapeless mound’, ‘featureless landscape’ and those tracks creating ‘random patterns
of shadow’. Your poem has left an impression, Candy!

The booted tracks just open up the whole beautifully painted scene.

Snow demands we leave tracks. As does desert sand. Poetry also leaves tracks.

Candy, thank you for listing all of my blogs! Lonely In San Mateo is gone now (and I’m still lonely.) Lol! I’ve known you for some time, haven’t I? You know Eddie and Sue, I met them back at Live Spaces. Did you have one too? Just curious. I love your painting of a child’s footsteps in the spring snow. Hugs!

I like the blurriness and vagueness of the scene and then those footprints stole the show!
