Out of Standard in the Garden
From the Black Mirror
Use the last text you received and turn it into a poem
~
this is the text I used –
“I’ll pick you up at 8 …. Any ideas?”
Night Out
Any ideas
that come from my muse
tonight
are hers alone
I’m stepping out
cutting loose
no comfy chair
or cup of tea,
fuzzy slipper and jammies
oh, no I have
big plans
I’ll pick you up at 8 –
which book store shall
we hang out in?
I like the sardonic-ness of this poem. The wry wink was not lost on me. Thanks so much for posting to the out of standard!

One with a bar perhaps? 😉

Hi Candy, this is nice reading with a fast slowdown at the end.
Your lines, “fuzzy slipper and jammies oh, no I have big plan</em", sound like a misstatement to me. And they generate a smile 🙂 here.

Hanging out at a book store for an evening sounds like big plans to me as well. I enjoyed this take on the prompt!

Just my kind of place as well…I can just lose myself in bookstores. Great poem, Candy!

I enjoy the way you continued the story and I too love bookstores ~ especially old buildings with creaky wood floors!
