Quadrille #6 – Victoria has asked us to shimmer
d’Verse Poets
~~
in the darkest
night when
light is hidden
by heavy clouds
when mister moon
is absent and fancy
stars don’t shimmer
I reach out – stumble
fumble – searching for
an anchor in this sea
of blackness and
unknown monsters
and I find you
Such a great use of shimmer and metaphor, Candy. Thanks for joining us.

Love that stumble/fumble…and the open ending…is she relieved? Or is he the even greater monster? Whew.

I think we all should have that anchor that steadies us in time of monsters and darkness. I really enjoyed this, Candy.

Those moments of darkness… I hope it’s a loved one found in that fumble/stumble.

Such a loving and positive thought, such a ‘nice’ poem, great phrase, ‘and fancy stars don’t shimmer….’ Kudos Candy

I love the ending. But oh my word, THIS:
“when mister moon
is absent and fancy” … going crazy over this 🙂
Also, “darkest” hides “dark EST.”
