my peace is not your peace
for my struggle is not yours
what vexes me you dismiss
with ease and your anxieties
bring me no anguish
your prayers are not my prayers
our snares are not the same
but our needs are not so different
a safe home
food and clean water
a feeling of usefulness
respect
surely then, peace will find us

You’re right, candy. Peace means different things to different people, but in the end we have such very basic needs as you’ve outlined.

OK, this comes about as close to hope, to a positive vibe as I’ve found while blog-hopping for dVerse. It is nice to see, to read, to even consider; thanks.

I admire that ending line – underneath we are not so different from each other ~ Hopefully, peace will find us ~

Excellent write, Candy – we may not want the same things, but surely there is something deeper that can unify us all.

True. We all have basic needs. One of those needs is life without fear. You left us with hope which is a good thing to have and never lose and what we all need.

True, we do have our differences and I believe a common ground can be found if both sides want to find it bad enough.
